7 year old dies while driving a motorized dirt bike

My local news had a story about a 7 year old boy who died while riding a motorized dirt bike. This story has angered many people in my community. Many people myself included can not understand how anyone can allow their 7 year old too drive a motorcycle. I mean 7 years old! that is the normal age of a second grader….His parents need too be charged with endangerment of their son….

This is truly a sad story...

You're right ...

They just dont know...

In my opinion,

a seven year old would not have the common sense to manage free access to a dirt bike. Parent do misjudge, and I imagine they see that quite clearly now.

I agree djbtol, People need

I agree djbtol, People need to stop looking at children as "little adults" becuase their not adults....

little adults

You make an interesting point. Children need adult supervision far more than they would ever admit, and more than a lazy, careless or too busy parent would admit.

Ironically, when children become teens, they should be in training as 'little adults', but many are allowed to continue acting as children.

They must have their

childhood. And they so badly need boundaries.

Sadly it is a common

event around our home. I get quite sick! I have seen younger ones than 7 driving motorised bikes while their parents 'PROUDLY' watch the exploits of these children who have no idea of the power or danger of what they are doing. Parents (some!) can be very irresponsible.
