A Florida, US, teen commits suicide on live webcam...

A Florida, US, teenager has died of a lethal drug overdose in front of an online webcam audience just 12 hours after blogging about his plans to commit suicide, an investigator has revealed.

The 19 year old died on Wednesday from a toxic combination of opiates and benzodiazepine, a drug used to treat insomnia and depression. Another waste of a young life!

We have had a few around our small city...

in the last year or two, and have known some of the kids and their families. What is that saying,"there but for the grace of God go I." Indeed!

Hutt's is is a very senstive issue

Young people suiciding is not rare these days. It is hard for most of us to comprehend but it is a fact. Some do it in quite dramatic style to get publicity - perhaps hoping in some way they can look back from whereever they go, to see their fame. It is hard to comment at times because it is so incomprehensible to many of us, and too close to home for others. It is a problem that is not easy to solve, especially in these troubled times where the press focuses so much on the negatives in our lives.

You would think this article would draw hundreds of comments.

I guess it is just so awful that people want to put it out of their minds, Hutt. The first thought that came to my mind when I read about it was, "His poor parents!" I just can't imagine the grief and horror they must be going through. If one of my children did that, I don't think I would ever recover.

my comment...

I'm avoiding a comment here, not because I'm without feeling or opinion, but because this one is too close to home this year.

You are right about that...

Pretty awful Hutts

and I suspect that the publicity of this act, will only encourage more young people to do the same.
