A lesson on using a Video Camera

I was told this story – and I think it would be funnier if one had been there. A number of adults met for an afternoon of go cart racing and a BBQ last weekend. One of the ladies was given a video camera to record the events as the guys raced around the go cart track enjoying their speed and spills.

This lady had not used the camera before, and after a quick lesson from the owner set out to record the events of the day on her digital still camera and the video cam. And this she did. Alternating the cameras, and recording as much as she could of the events of the race track.

When she used the digi cam, she held the video cam where ever she could. At times it was under her arm, on her lap when she sat down, or when she was standing, between her legs.

Later, after the BBQ, they returned to the home of one of couples, and they all sat down to see the results of the filming.

At first no one could understand the footage and watched trying to work out what had happened. It seemed that when the lady thought she was filming the camera was actually OFF, and when she was using the still camera, the video cam was still on. There were shots of her under arm, her chest, her lap, etc. The auto focus tried to make sense of the fabric of her dress and zoomed in and out trying to focus. When it was realized what had happened everyone watched the footage midst great laughter.

I’ve not seen anyone tell this story, or aspects of it without almost rolling around in laughter with tears rolling down their face!

The lady concerned has been given a new nickname – Crotch Cam! Will she ever live it down?
