Adventure Grandmother

My daughter left her two girls with us last evening as she had a medical appointment and her husband was late home from work. We love having the girls visit, and luckily as they live close by it is a regular occurrence.

The children had just learned of my pending trip to China and we talked about it. One of them announced that their other grandmother was the spending and making grandmother (she sews, and takes them shopping), and I was the adventure grandmother. How good is that? I was thrilled.

The girls and I are off on another adventure tomorrow morning - a two hour plus flight to Adelaide for five days. (Their mother asked me to babysit for a couple of days, and I don't do things by halves!)

So it is Adelaide, here we come, for visits to the beach and the zoo, and the Adelaide Museum where we reaquaint ourselves with the skeletonof the the Diprotodon which has major family significance. (A great uncle of mine found the skeleton in the South Australian countryside.)

Adventure Grandmother. That's me. The girls have asked if I will take them to China. When they are a bit more grown up - we'll see......
