Al Qaeda threatens new attacks in Afghanistan - revelations in new video

Al Qaeda has threatened new attacks in Afghanistan and has dismissed setbacks in Iraq in a video issued yesterday to mark 9/11 terror attacks.

The delay in the release of the video has raised questions among counterterrorism experts over whether the terror network's long powerful propaganda machine was faltering.

Al Jazeera television has revealed that Al Qaeda's deputy leader, Ayman al-Zawahri has accused Iran of taking part in a western 'crusader' war against Islam. He must be losing the plot!

It seems that Al Qaeda which is a militant Sunni Islamist group, has accused the predominant Shi'ite Iranians of supporting the west, because the latter have good relations with anti-Taliban leaders in Afghanistan.

It seems a ridiculous claim, really. But much of what Al Qaeda says publicly is ridiculous, in any case.
