My first solo visit

It has been two weeks since we arrived here in Shaoxing. Two awesome weeks really - that on reflection feel like 5 or 6. We have settled in well - and I'm feeling more confidant.

Today I was glad to sign off after my morning lessons, have a bite to eat at lunch time in the canteen and head into town. I've been looking for green cardboard to do something to celebrate St Patricks Day. My students are learning about Ireland in one of their subjects, so I thought it would be fun to decorate the classroom with cardboard shamrocks, but finding the card wasn't easy.

Traffic in this part of China

Like a lot of things in China - it is hard to put into words some of the experiences. Too hard to describe - nothing is as it is at home.

Especially the traffic. Apparently here it is a little wilder than in other places, but with thousands of people on push bikes, electric motor cycles, or some sort of tricycle, as well as cars, buses, carts and pedestrians all using the road together you'd imagine some chaos.

Is Your Spouse Lying?

Oh, I sure hope not! But if he/she is, could you tell?

Now all of us have lied at some point, but most people are uncomfortable and bothered by telling a lie, unlike car salesmen (remember this one: How can you tell if a car salesman is lying? His lips are moving!)
