Recovering from a bout of the flu this afternoon, and finding myself with nothing better to do, I decided to amuse myself by reading some of the many blog entries I had missed during my illness.
Seeing that there was an inordinate number of entries from a person known as Tummaton, I got, as one of my favorite literary characters once said, "curiouser and curiouser."
Mind you, my survey was not conducted under laboratory conditions, although from the mold growing here and there after my ten day illness, one might think I was in some kind of experimental laboratory. No, this survey was pretty hap-hazzard at best, but I think the results are worth reporting.
Out of 99 blog entries in a row, working backwards, I counted 57 of them as being contributed by Tummaton. The runner-up was Harvinder1 (whom I have often suspected of being the same person as Tummaton) with a mere dozen accredited to his/her name.
The rest of us had from one to six entries.
I say this not to scold those who have contributed few entries, but to ask why it is that one or two people feel compelled to dominate this board by using more than 50% of the alloted space to express their own opinions--or to present material that has been copied from other websites? A number of our most interesting bloggers have left us, because they cannot count on staying on the front page long enough to even get read.
Please, if you consider yourself a member of this community, by all means, share your thoughts and feelings with us, and then let others have the same privilege. Thanks for listening.
