Arktos is Greek for...

It seems as if some days my mind is over run with fascnating facts, histories or questions and other days I draw a complete blank. There are days when I find 20 different things that I need to tell you all about, and other days when nothing seems interesting at all.

It's strange how that works out, on the days that I have so much to say, I have so little time to say it. However, right now, as my daughter naps, my house is clean and I have nothing but an hour of free time; I can think of nothing to write about.

I only have one tid bit of information for you today. You may find it of interest, I did. I came across it in a Dan Brown book, which in general contain heaps of fun and interesting facts.

Arctic and Antarctic. The name Arctic comes from the Greek word Arktos, which means bear. You will find polar bears in the Arctic, but not in the Antarctic. So, literally Arctic means "bear" and Antarctic mean "no bear".

I have had many of those days

so, I, too will check out Jellen's site.

I'll be sure to check that

I'll be sure to check that out!!

Thanks for the info.

I like 'bear' and 'no bear'. They are a matched set, like salt and pepper, or cold and colder.

Next time your idea bank is found to be empty, you should check out this new site I found. It is called Blog Prompt and Jellen is the author. Lots of fresh ideas for you to ponder.
