It is the easiest thing to do and all bloggers appreciate it - but not all do it. It is the simple act of commenting on other people's blogs - and responding to those comments on your own blog.
Sadly there are too many people who call themselves bloggers who just post information and think that they can create a successful income doing just that. Few do.
Bloggers like to get feedback from their writing. Positive or negative it doesn't matter although there's an art to giving negative feedback without upsetting the blogger concerned. Sometimes a good "argument" on line creates a lot of interest and a lot of readers. Rudeness and insults do not work well - they might create a lot of interest initially - but people do not like reading the work of bloggers who are rude, or use bad language.
My advice to new bloggers is to post a few articles, but read twice as many and comment. Say nice things if you can. Say something positive about the blog. Disagree if you want to - but do it with some finesse.
Yaro Starak wrote in his recent newsletter about the value of comments to increase your readership. Subscribe to his newsletter here. Check the last newsletter.
Who is Yaro Starak? He is a guy from my home city, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia though we've never met. He is earning good money - he says over $10,000 a month from blogging, so I think his opinion is valuable.
So -
* Comment on blogs and leave your name, and link to your blogsite.
* Go back and join the "conversation" on the blogs.
* Read the comments on your own blog and comment on the comments.
ps I don't get anything out of telling you this information, but I am a regular reader of his newsletter, and might use him as my trainer at some stage, but too busy with other things at the moment.
