Curling is a popular past time in Canada

Curling is a Olympic sport and is popular in Canada. Curling. is similar to shuffle board but played on ice. Basically you slide a rock across the ice surface and try and get your rock inside your opponents circle. The closer to the center of the circle your rock stops in the more points you score.

I have gone curling several times while visiting family in Canada which is not at all that far from my home. I would say curling in Canada is on par with Bowling in the United States. People get out of work on Friday and meet up at the local curling club for a few drinks with their friends. Curling is actually quite fun.

We have curling down in the South Island when its really cold...

its a little more sophisticated than a rock, what do you call the 'thing' that is used? You use waxed brooms to enable the 'thing' to get closer to the target area. Sort of bowls on ice?
