Daredevils have become a part of Niagara falls history

On October 24th 1901 Annie Taylor became the first person to plunge over Niagara falls in a barrel. Annie Taylor climbed into her barrel and the presser inside was increase to 30 p.s.i with a bicycle pump. She survived the plunge with a few cuts and bruises but other then that she was fine. Annie Taylor lived in poverty and she believed that if she did this stunt she would be rewarded with fame and fortune.

Unfortunately for Annie she never made any money from her stunt but she did go down in history as the first person to ever go over Niagara falls in a barrel.

Since Annie Taylor’s stunt around a dozen or so other daredevils have made the plunge over Niagara Falls in different types of barrels. In effect Annie Taylor has become an icon of Niagara falls history that many people find fascinating.
