Even the poor apes are victims of melamine poisoning through contaminated milk...

I have another spin on this particular scandal, which makes you think a little.

Two gorillas may be the latest victims of China's contaminated milk scandal.

They show early signs of having kidney stones, local media have claimed.

The two young gorillas from Hangzhou Wildlife World in eastern China were fed milk powder made by the now discredited Sanlu group, which is 43% owned by the New Zealand dairy giant, Fonterra, the sixth largest dairy company in the world.

So far four babies have died and over 50,000 made ill after being fed contaminated milk powder - an unknown number having kidney stones.

Another shame

The food supply is something never to be tampered with -- a basic human need, and in this case, ape need.
