Excellent blog tool for podcasters.

used to wonder about the origin and evolution of blogs.

As per wikipedia, blogging came into being in 1990. Justin Hall, who began eleven years of personal blogging in 1994 while a student at Swarthmore College is generally recognized as one of the earliest bloggers.

Early weblogs were simply manually updated components of common websites. However, the evolution of tools to facilitate the production and maintenance of web articles posted in said chronological fashion made the publishing process feasible to a much larger, less technical, population.

The term “weblog” was coined by Jorn Barger on 17 December 1997. This was later shortened to “blog” and was accepted as both a noun and verb (“to blog,” meaning “to edit one’s weblog or to post to one’s weblog”).
Enough of history?
Ok, we all know about blog directories and blog serach engines.
But do you know about an unique podcast search engine which is also known video search engine?

I am talking about Podzinger.
With podzinger you can search the full audio of both audio and video podcasts just like you search for any other information on the web.

What is the difference between PODZINGER and other podcast search sites?
Most podcast search sites provide directories of podcasts by subject, category, or they search only the metadata provided by the creator of the podcast.

PODZINGER takes search a step further by searching the spoken words inside the podcast in order to find more specific and relevant results. The text-based search results include snippets from the audio portion to help you figure out if the result is relevant. You can even click on the words to begin playing the podcast from that point.

How does PODZINGER work?
PODZINGER creates a text index of the audio data from audio and video files, using the industry’s leading speech-to-text technology from BBN Technologies, to enable search within a podcast, not just within the metadata.

Some features:
•You can click on any point in those snippets and the audio or video will begin to play from that point forward.
•If you want to listen or watch from the beginning, just click on the play button in the control bar that is displayed next to each result.

Visit Podzinger and you will understand it more.
