What would be great is if everyone buys gas at the beginning of one week and when they run out that week, they pull over and the side of the road and start walking. Just think of all the lines of cars all over the nation AND how much weight people could lose! lol

$2.00 per litre! That's something like 7.60/gallon. We are paying about $3.60 per gallon now. Before our gas prices ever reach your price, my financial world will have gone through a melt down.
For many people, reducing the amount of driving, means a significant change in lifestyle. That is not easily done. I think in the U.S. many are still at the stage where you cut expenses elsewhere and put more money into gas.

appreciate the sentiment of these attempts. I have seen a few of them go buy. However, I really doubt it makes a difference if people continue to buy the same amount either before or after the specified day.
More noticeable will be the day when Americans begin to take drastic measures to drive less. That's when the government will start to subsidize (with our tax dollars) the cost of gasoline.
