"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."
A lot of people, I think, can recognize Genesis 1:1. It's little-believed verse, really, and those who do accept it as fact are oft-mocked. God created everything—not chance, not some alien "seeding" (which in itself would've had to be produced by chance if we accept it as true)—but that's not my point.
How often do we stress when times are tough? When the bank's looking a little empty? When our minister's comatose in the hospital?
But God created everything. Whatever happens, He is in control. We don't see the whole picture.
But He sees us. He's promised to take care of His children, just as He supports His creation every moment.
Okay, so I am a 6-day creationist, believing that God created everything. Whoop-dee-doo. That doesn't seem to matter much at the moment—though I know it does. Feeling that it matters is another matter.
Right now, I just want to cling to that God created everything. Everything. The accident, yes. But the same God who's in control over Dustin being in the hospital saved my life in September 2005, and sees to it that I have the means to pay my bills every month.
"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."
And I've used far too much bold type in this post...
