You had some good guesses on the last photo, but I included the answer at the bottom of the page. This time there will be no answer to help -- and try not to run your cursor over the picture or it may give you the answer. the house. City wil need to replace their sidewalk there. The ones around it have been replaced, but that square must have been good the last time around.

Thanks for your guesses. It's paving in front of my home on the city sidewalk.

It's the cement that has become pitted. One day, I had camera in hand and I was experimenting with its settings and this photo popped out. I couldn't have planned it.

I could see this on a floor tile, terrazzo, stone, or some synthetic floor covering. That's my guess.
