Humbly Grateful or Grumbly Hateful

With what attitude do you receive difficulties in your life? Is is humbly grateful that you are being tested so that you can grow in righteousness? Or is it grumbly hateful that this unpleasantness has descended upon you so undeservingly? All of us have trials, but murmuring and complaining will not do any good.

Many exhortations from the Scriptures call us to rejoice in our trials. Through trials we gain endurance, and through endurance we will be made complete. So give thanks in all circumstances, as is God's will for you.

James 1:2-4 "Consider it all joy my brethren, when you encounter trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."

I think that I try

to be grateful that things are not worse! I'm not a christian but I believe that if one begins the day with the right attitude, good things will happen. If I begin the day grumbling, nothing will go right. I also believe that smiling my way through everything life throws at me helps - one can't feel anything but happy if one is smiling.

I like your approach, TeeBug

It is a positive attitude taht is so attractive in a cynical world

The blogs are moving slowly

I just stopped by and there was a time when the blogs flew off of the first page...not so now.

Surely it is faster, imaauthor

than things are moving at WU!

Some days things are faster

than others. There's no way to predict how things will be. No doubt we are all pretty busy in real life and some of us have more than one blog to keep going. It is nice to see new faces though. Great.

If the pace gets too fast I may not be able to keep up, Elly

I am old you know!

"Old"?

and I reckon the good bloggers are not Y generation, I thinkmore likely to be "Baby Boomers" or older. So many admit to being grandparents.

Yes, this is not ALL for the young,

although I'd own up to young at heart at times.

Familyfunandfaith, please don't tell me I can't be at least

a tiny bit grumbly about this sore throat that is plaguing me. (Especially if I try to eliminate the hateful part.)

maybe you can let your voice be grumbly, Jeanne

It usually takes a little time

to adjust to a new place. Give it a chance.

Imaauthor, it already feels more like home

than myspace. I will be giving it a fair shake here.

Hello Familyfunandfaith

Welcome to BlogEvolve. I have read you before on WritingUp. Glad you have made your way here. We like our community and believe you will too. But at present, we are hoping our Admin will be a bit more visible.

Glad to see you posting pieces of faith. I too, blog family-friendly pieces, with a smattering of personal faith. You will find several here who have this in common with you.

Thanks for the welcome, Jellen

I hope to be a good neighbor. For the past couple of weeks I have been looking for a place with a community feel like WritingUp. Many of our best bloggers have migrated to MySpace. I have put up a blog there, but it is not as appealing to me as the writing community at WU was for a year plus.

I usually write what is on my mind, so it is a jumble!

As do I

BlogEvolve is more about community than number of guests, but that can always change. Growing pains will demand a more on site Admin, so hopefully that will happen if we do grow more.

I am out of the loop. Has WU ceased to be?

Familyfunandfaith's picture

No Jellen, I just left there and WU

is still up as of this morning. All four of us who were there were happy to be there, I think.
