This has not been the best week. Earlier in the week we got word that my wife's only uncle had passed away. He has been ill for the past three years and it is a relief for him, though sad for those left behind. We will attend the funeral in Dallas tomorrow.

Yesterday we heard that a friend had found out that he has an aneurysm in is brain. I went to the hospital this morning to sit with his family during the surgery. It turned out to be successful, for which we are all thankful.

As I was leaving the hospital, I received a call from my wife that my dad had called 911 and was on his way to the hospital (60 miles south), with respiratory problems. I hurried down there. When they took the x-rays, they found pneumonia. That is bad enough for anyone, but Dad only has one lung, having lost one 24 years ago to cancer. We are praying for a complete recovery.

When it rains, it pours!
