In For Four Days, Out For Two Weeks!

I spent the last week at church camp with 300 teenagers and a staff of about 75 adults. We were in the Hill country of Texas, west of San Antonio. It was hot and for the most part dry. I was the cabin counselor for 20 young men who just finished the 10th grade. I taught their Bible classes in the daytime. It also had 22 young women the same age.

We had a lot of fun, it is always good to be with a bunch of young people who are wanting to be good kids. We did a lot of laughing, a lot of learning, a lot of singing and a lot of playing. We didn't do much sleeping.

Camp is always one of my favorite weeks of the year and I'm looking forward to the next session.

Right now I am busy getting my laundry cleaned and gathering up supplies I'm going to need for a trip I'm about to make to the island of Dominica in the Caribbean. I will be part of a team of 17 are going to do two-week mission trip. I get to see a lot of old friends; I've been going to Dominica since 1984. The island is a very steep and the weather is very hot. We will work very hard. And I doubt we'll sleep very much there either.

I wonder how old is too old to do all of this kind of activity. I may be pushing the upper limits of that now!

Glad you took a break

from the laundry to check in. Glad to hear that camp went well and that more excitement lies ahead. Not a boring summer, I would say.

As far as how old - if you can do it without your body throwing a major fit, then you are young enough.

I can't go as fast as I did a few years ago, but I can still go a long time!
