Increasing earnings from the BlogeEvolve site.

Greetings all. It is wonderful to see new faces here, and to see others return. This is a special site - but as has been commented elsewhere, it is not a good site for revenue for us. Our Adsense earnings are almost non existent from this site. Darn!

But we are all to "blame" for this to some degree. First of all there seems to be a sense that we need to do nothing but post some words here to get readers and revenue. Wrong!

Keywords. We need to understand more the use of keywords. There is a good site to go to to learn a little bit more about keywords. Click here. I'm not an expert on all of this but I also understand that if we use keywords in our title, we use them in our Tags and we use them in our post (at least three times).

Links are good to use too. Link back to a post here or elsewhere that your readers might click on. (Obviously you'd have a link to a post or two that you have done, but a link back to an item on Wikpedia or other site that will support your story or argument in your post will be useful to your reader.)

Additional advertising in your post? Some say it is a good idea.

Promote. Promote. Promote. This is something that many of us do not do. I put my hand up here. Seldom do I bother to click onto the Blog Directories (bottom left hand side of the page). Register with three or four of them including Technorati. Maybe at the end of each week do your updating with the Blog directories.

Mention Brand names. As an example - Jellen has been taking fabulous photos and posting them. I might be wrong but I think it would be useful for her if she mentioned the brand of camera. (It will attract camera ads and some of us might be inclined to click on the ad. to find out more!) Also Jellen has mentioned that she uses a photo program that looks pretty fancy (a link or invitation to that site might be helpful too - note Jellen I'd like an invitation to join!!!)

Write good material. Surely I don't have to say more on this.

Photos also attract readers.

Now I know we cannot ask people to click on the ads. And we avoid doing it because we fear that we will accidently click on an ad on our own sites and get into trouble with Adsense. But bloggers generally ignore the ads. Have a look at the ads. There is some great information just waiting for you to click!!!

You need to do much more than just write a post to get Adsense Earnings. You need to EARN you income.

and never, never, never

click on an ad for those who spam the site.

All good points Elly

I got another click this week from the extra block add at the bottom. I have experimented. I've tried 4 ads and get nothing...2 ads and get one once in a while, but the single add in the offset color has a way of getting attention. It's different. It's red, and it stands out right when then reader finishes the post, because it's inside the post.

The wikipedia is a great link to include. It's high up in google ranking and gives a link out without sending folks to a site that's sales oriented. Oh Elly, could you add a comment about using the "target" code that keeps folks on site with only a window out - so they don't totally click out? I would, but I am unsure about the exact lettering.

As far as the beta site photrade goes, send me your email to use and I will send you an invite. I'm only allowed three and I would welcome you as one of my contacts.

Yes, Hutts, I read that.

It is a pain. I think I avoid clicking on the ads because I don't want to get caught accidentally clicking on something on one of my own posts. But there is often great information if you follow the link. :)
