Making It Work

And the LORD answered me:
"Write the vision;
make it plain on the tablets,
so he may run who reads it.
For still the vision awaits its appointed time;
it hastens to the end—it will not lie.
If it seems slow, wait for it;
it will surely come; it will not delay."
Hab. 2:2-3, NESV

Confession: I don't read the minor prophets all that often; and even when I do, I don't think I pay as close attention as I do to other authors. Comprehension of the minor prophets in particular requires an extremely solid foundation (or at least study) of elements of OT history that often aren't as well known.

You see, I'm impatient. Not with some things, like waiting for breaks from school—partially because I've learned that not knowing when their coming lessens stress, so I conveniently don't look at my syllabi, though I also seem to be misplacing them—but with things that I'm either don't see the point of (involved cooking) or am not sure if I should be doing them (blogging), it doesn't exactly take much to discourage me.

It's why I'm an ADD-ish cook, though I'm normal most of the time. It's also why, after such a short while of doing it, I started considering giving up this blog. Who, after all, is really interested in what a 19-year-old chick has to say for herself?

So when Jellen sent me a PM on another site, referencing Hab. 2:2, I stared blankly at the reference, remembering only that Habakkuk was somewhere near Zephaniah. When Habakkuk lived, I don't know. But looked it up to read and was a bit startled. I'd never thought of myself in that way.

So, thanks to Jellen (who even gave me the name for this blog, "In Perspective"), not only am I continuing this one, but I'm starting another one over on Plogzilla.

It's going to be tough, managing 4 blogs + a website + freelance assignments with school (especially if I overload this coming term), but I'll do the best I can. (I don't count my message board because my friends who have co-administration & moderation ability can handle whatever few problems might pop up.)

And if God really wants me to do this, He'll make it work if I work to make it.

I hope

you do continue your blog here. I like your blogs and I am sure there are many whoare interested in what a 19 year old thinks. You all are our future and we better know how you think. Maybe some of our old sage wisdom will find its way to today's youth and some of your youthful insight will find it into ours. Thanks for the lessons.
