Media Leading the Charge

Political candidates have opponents. Every political candidate expects to face opposition as they try to win over the voters. So, of course, it is no surprise that John McCain's pick for vice president, Gov. Sarah Palin, would also meet up with her opponents Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

But, for the most part that has not really happened. Look more carefully at who Sarah Palin's opponents are. It is the media. From the moment of her announcement last Friday, the media has been on a full scale attack against Sarah Palin and her family. They were out of the starting gate long before Obama and Biden. The media is leading the charge; looking over their shoulder they shout back, "Come on Obama, try to keep up!" So what's up? Is someone from the media now running for President?

Now is when a democrat will want to remind me that there is no media bias. The media are merely professional journalists trying to gather the facts and report them. Since the media has been cozy with Barack Obama since the beginning, one might more easily tolerate them gathering the facts to feed important information to Obama / Biden. But for all practical purposes, Obama could have been on vacation in Hawaii the last few days and nothing would have been different. It is the media that has declared war against Gov. Sarah Palin.

The heart and soul of the media beats liberal. And if there is one thing a liberal cannot tolerate is the conservative clout that Gov. Palin brings to the Republican ticket. The liberal media did not even need to consult with the true political opponents Obama / Biden. This is their own battle and they wanted blood, even if possible convincing McCain to drop her from the ticket. Yes the media is very liberal, and they are the sworn enemy of everything good that Sarah Palin represents.

Didn't Gov. Sarah Palin do a great job with her speech last night?

I hope you are not being too literal...

She certainly did, djbtol

Made me proud. I'm also confident knowing that no person, no matter color of skin or gender rises to power without God's full knowledge and permission, and the candidates who make it to the White House will be ones designed for it, in God's timing, with God's favor - with or without a media storm of one-sided politics.

I do not disagree -

with your 'God and the election' comments. Just not sure how I would focus my response right now.

I learned something today that even makes Gov. Sarah Palin's speech more magnificent. I understand that during her speech the teleprompter got screwed up. Apparently, when a speech is interuppted by a lot of applause, it is easy for the person manning the teleprompter to get it messed up. I was not even aware it had happened.

Does anybody know if you can 'back-up' on a teleprompter?

Favor is the word

I think your trouble is with the word favor. Not all leaders have God's favor, and not all candidates are in God's favor, but I believe it is within God's ability alone that leaders rise to power. In this election, I believe the ones who will take the White House will be God fearing and will also be supported in prayer by a populace of citizens who have leared that the healing of our land happens with personal humility and seeking God for our nation's direction.
