My simple philosophy regarding telephones, callers and calls...

I have a simple philosophy regarding telephones, callers and calls, including mobile or cell phones too.

I don't own a cell phone - no I don't friends. I'm not a slave to the new phenomenon of cell phones. You will not see me hunched over texting on a cell phone, period.

To me a telephone was invented to make a telephone call!

If I were driving down the highway and a cellphone was ringing, I would not answer it. If the call was important, the caller would ring back, surely?

Well, if they don't, they don't and they can write a letter. Hang on, people don't write letters now, they email!

Yes, I'm caught up in that part of the new technology, but I don't email while I'm driving do I?

I have two

my Aussie one that I only get the rare text message on. the only way I can be contacted in an emergency from Australia too. I also have my Chinese one - which I have only used rarely - in fact less than 50 RMB for three months - but I find it helpful when I am in trouble and need a translator, or my students can contact me if they need me urgently. Sometimes it is my lifeline. By I don't hunch over it like most Chinese people and use it 24/7.

Me too ...!

I absolutely loathe cell phones and do not have one either, and my life seems to be totally fine ... I had a cell for a while, but developed an almosy inhuman hate for the thing -- nice to be free now ....
