Share your web site horror stories.

The recent tag and ping entries plus the "where do old blogs go" post got me thinking about my first web site. (Keep in mind that this is like 1996, folks.)

I didn't build my first site (a whole story in itself) but--and I promise I'm NOT making this up--the guy who did was colorblind. So he decided to stick to black and white. Black background with white text and little weird sparkly things everywhere. Animated text, rollover effects, you name it, I had it. And, of course, it was a frames site. I get a headache just thinking about it.

So, top that! Tell me about your first site. Go ahead. I dare you.

My first site

My first site was a very basic html site that had my name at the top in big black bold lettering. I changed the color on the site many times. The lettering was was always black.

I believe it was back in 1994-95.

The site itself really served no purpose other than something to show my friends who were all very impressed that I had my own website!

I miss those days. The web had a real innocence about it.
