Oh, And Don't Forget the Quiz Friday

What about those of us who can't afford to buy our schoolbooks the day we know what they're gonna be, hm?

Frankly, I'm not sure what I'm gonna do. You see, school started today.

Let's start that again. I have a few issues, right now. First, I need to drop a class. 19 credits is too many for someone who has a weak immune system or works, much less both. Forget graduating on time. (I'd use another word besides forget, but I remember that the term I automatically think meant something quite different to a previous generation not so far past.)

History looks like a dropper. It's not a prerequisite for anything, I don't think.

Now, here's what I'm not sure about what I'm gonna do: I got my school schedule yesterday. So how am I supposed to get my hands on textbooks for Friday when I have to order them online? I can try borrowing from classmates, but I'm not sure how much that's gonna work.

And there's this other "little" problem: I accidently "stole" someone's textbook. We each mistook the other for someone else who was going to buy or rent the textbook from him. So we're both at fault, at least, though I'm sure I could argue some lack of responsibility due to low blood sugar-induced light-headedness and we both could argue crowd and "first day of classes" confusion.

[abruptly thinks of looking in the textbook for a name and finds one]

[sighs in relief and relaxes] Thank you, God.

…And I do mean it when I say, "Thank you, God."

Ah, yes, and another problem: how am I gonna work? I'm not allowed to access most websites I use for work or my non-school e-mails while using the school Internet. No joke. And I suspect I could get in trouble for my "About That Song…" blog, and don't know how I'm gonna fit updating it into my hellish schedule.

[forces herself to breathe slowly] This will all be better once I have the textbooks…

Still, those reading quizzes are about every class for half of my classes I've had so far, so if I can't get a hold of any books to borrow, that's Friday and Monday at least that I'll bomb quizzes. I don't want to flunk any when they should be easy points!

[sighs]

Well, what happens, happens. It's in God's hands.

Good advice to...

Thanks, Toad...

But unfortunately, these quizzes are reading quizzes. My college is weird.

At any rate, today was okay, but unfortunately a worse problem has reared its head.

I'm allergic to perfumes.

HIGHLY allergic.

And in this college of twice the size of my last one, there seems to be at least three times the perfume and other scents. And daily chapel with all 5k+ people is required.

I happen to like breathing…

Go to the administration

Go to the administration office and explain to them your medical condition...You have a right to study in an eviroment that won't harm your health

relax Carradee

I graduated from college a while back so I understand what your going through. Personally I think text books should be included in tuition.

Just pay attention in class and take good notes and you should do fine...Most instructors will not test you on something they did not cover in class...
