Oprah and Palin?

All throughout the U.S. many women tune in to Oprah's daytime TV show. She has a huge audience. Oprah is also a big Obama supporter and because of that she is hoping to ignore the 'tons of requests' to have Gov. Sarah Palin on the show.

As you might expect, Oprah is a liberal and would not have much use for the views of Sarah Palin. On the other hand, Sarah Palin is stirring up a lot of discussion on the different aspects of feminism and the roles of women.

I would be surprised if Oprah does not put on her business hat and realize that Gov. Palin just might bring a record breaking audience to her show. A little promotion to make sure people know timing might be needed. Besides, Obama is a big boy, he can take it.

What do you think?

Revision: Oprah responded to the Drudgereport with the following statement:

"The item in today's Drudge Report is categorically untrue. There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this Presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over."

And here is the picture of candidate Obama on the Oprah show. Looks like Oprah lied! Maybe even categorically lied!

A complicated affair for...

a non-American like me. Palin has added some interest to what could have beena one-sided race to the White House

I suspect you are right, djbtol

Oprah is a sharp business woman and will probably take the opportunity to try to undermine Palin. But we all have blind spots and moments of stubbornness.

Live Well, Learn Much, Laugh Often

Even sharp business people

will sometimes allow their feelings and personal biases to get in the way of sound decisions. As the story continue to unfold, it turns out that Oprah's producers are telling her to interview Sarah Palin, but she is refusing.

the facts

Seems that we might be lacking tolerance and inclusiveness here.
