San Francisco is considering requiring their taxi companies too be eco-friendly

The city of San Francisco is considering requiring their taxi companies too convert their fleets to hybrid cars and other low level emission vehicles by 2012.
California has some of the worst air pollution in the United States. Requiring taxies companies too use low emission vehicles wont solve global warming by it’s self but it’s a step in the right direction.

Hopefully other big cities will follow San Francisco’s lead.

Anyway thanks for reading

Yea hutt...I get a kickout

Yea hutt...I get a kickout of seeing those old London Cabs..Someday I will travel to England and maybe even flag one of those old cabs down:)

Any large city -

like San Francisco would benefit from cleaner running cabs. Hybrid cars are expensive so the cost might be an issue. Replacement cars would have to be phased in over time, otherwise the funds will come from outrageous cab fares or tax money.

Most of the cabs I have taken seem to be about 40 years old.
