Sunhat Thoughts

I have been getting much use out of my sunhat these last few days. It is a big navy blue straw hat with a ribbon on it. It is nice and shady and very necessary recently. The weather forecaster said this morning that the temperatures that we have been having are July temperatures not April ones. The high temperature the other day was 29c.

Water restrictions are now in force for N. France and Provence

not for our part of France yet. They don't affect us anyway as we have a well.

Our weather has been

a lot more pleasant although we were in a tornado watch last night.

I do not miss

living in the midwest. Time in the Dakotas meant blizzards, heatstroke, or thunderstorms, none of which I found to my liking.

Our nights are still in the 30's here

rather than near May 40's. Cold wet weather keeps us from being able to turn the garden soil. But last summer we did have our drought - into fall.

Hats, I said I would find the reference for the prophetic verses about expecting weather pattern changes. I don't feel qualified to speak much about it, but here is the reference.

Matt. 24:6-8

The weather is so strange Jellen, it is usually getting warm now

but not this warm.

Drought for Europe?

I hope not, but I was speaking to a friend in Italy yesterday, and she told me that their government is having urgent talks about the lack of rain. Crops that should be green have matured too early and are now yellow and the ground is too dry. Are we seeing the beginning of a world-wide drought?

The situation is not so bad here yet but for the past couple of

years there has been a campaign to urge farmers not to grow those crops which need a great deal of water and to use water more wisely.

You'd get plenty of use for it here

though there is some rain about today.

Glad to hear that you are getting some rain Elly, we have seen

on TV the drought in Australia and the despair of farmers there.

The rain is minimal up here

despair continues.
