My daughter took her two little children to church more often in their younger days. And we had some hilarious experiences with them. At the church all children were part of the main service, and 20 minutes or so into the service they would troop out after a special mini sermon for children, to Sunday School.

Getting lost

All this talk about grand children has reminded me of something that I may have mentioned some time ago. Losing children.

We have had some "memorable" lost child experiences. When one is caring alone for the grandchildren on an outing it is easy to lose them I have discovered. On one occasion at a train museum, while I was at the counter getting food one of the girls disappeared causing me to have a frantic search. Not easy when there are crowds. On another occasion in Adelaide when I had my elderly parents and grandchild together at the Zoo, the same little miss went missing. My parents panicked more than me, but it did take a while to find her happily watching the gorillas.

Cute Chinese children

I see quite a few children - there are some that visit the college, and others I see in the bus and 'in town.' They are cute. All children are cute - especially little ones.

It has been so cold in these parts - I think I heard that it has been the coldest weather in 50 years - and the children are well and truly rugged up to keep out the winter chill. I've not seen children as rugged up - there's no need at home.

The Tamagotchi Experience

Yesterday was a weird day. While we were picking flowers (we are in business with our daughter and son-in-law) with a flower growing business, our daughter came up to say that both children were sick. One is waiting for a tonsilectomy - being in constant pain/high temperature with a throat infection. It seems that both sisters were suffering from the condition yesterday. Would I "babysit" later in the day? Sure.

Children say the darndest things.

My daughter left her two girls with us last evening as she had a medical appointment and her husband was late home from work. We love having the girls visit, and luckily as they live close by it is a regular occurrence.
