A six-storey-tall statue of Jesus Christ with his arms raised along a highway was struck by lightning in a thunderstorm Monday night and burned to the ground, police said.
The object of this writing challenge was to make the word "closet" be the last word of the first sentence and the last word of the last sentence.
Special note to my new Blogevolve friends: I have been using the Ouija board for more than 40 years -- starting when I was eight years old -- up to today. Over the decades, I have generated transcripts containing millions of words, hundreds of stories and contact with dozens of "strange entities."
The Geminian rants...
or better said, wonders, if baby Jesus was born in a Manger, (which I guess is the name for the place where the Jews kept livestock animals at night, very muddy and foul smelling,) then when the Three Wise Men came with their gifts, why didn't Mary and Joseph get a room at the Hilton or something instead of remaining in the smelly manger? I mean to say that if they had GOLD, then the manger was a ridiculous place to remain with a newborn baby. They could have pawned the Frankincense and Myrrh, for a tent or was the at stuff to make the manger smell better? Either way the Gold which was from a King, must have been enough to get a real room somewhere.
Merry Christmas everyone.
As I see so many posts about Jesus and Christmas, I also thought to tell you about my thoughts of Jesus son of Mary as he is a Muslim Prophet.
We Muslims accept Jesus (may Allah's peace be on him) as one of our Prophets. Our Prophet Muhammad (may Allah's peace with on him and on his family) said that "all the Prophets are brothers and Jesus is the closest one to me." He showed his two fingers, the pointing finger and the middle finger, saying that Muhammad and Jesus are like these two fingers that are very very close. Muhammad is the best man that has ever been created and Jesus is the second best man. They are higher than the rest of the prophets and men.
Some people think that “Xmas” is offensive or disrespectful, which is a ridiculous thing to think. Using “Xmas” instead of spelling out “Christmas” is a practice that began many centuries ago, some claim as far back as the first century a.d.
Why do we celebrate the birth of Jesus on December 25? It’s not because he was born on that day. The bible makes no mention of an actual date for Jesus’ birth, however there are a few clues that lead experts to believe he was born in spring rather than winter. For instance, St. Luke states that shepherds were “keeping watch over their flocks by night.” The watching of the flock during the night was only practiced during the Spring time, which is when they give birth.
John 11:35 has its reputation as being the shortest verse in the Bible. Last night, a minister mentioned something about it that we often don't think of: it's among the most powerful Scriptures.
Is Christian music supposed to fuel anger?? I didn't think so, but it did that to me today. I was angry to begin with - long story - but Alter Ego has the boring story on his blog. I choose to let him blog about the mundane, boring events of the day because it allows me to be more creative and mildly entertaining for my "fans" without making them have to suffer through blogs that explain in excruciating detail what I did today.
