It is Mother's Day today, and I am miles from my family. With regret. And it is the third year in a row.
Well, it is confirmed. I have my ticket. I leave Brisbane on October 4th on a direct flight to Incheon, the international airport of Seoul, South Korea.
I related this story (with a little more colour than I can here) to folks yesterday and had everyone in stitches, so thought I'd post it here.
Not long to go now. I've had a few farewell parties and the gifts are becoming a challenge. Few have given thought to how I am to get these huge boxes home. Clearly they won't fit in my luggage.
I have had many questions from people over the last few weeks about the increasing aggression shown by the North Koreans towards South Korea. It is not something that is discussed.
Well, five sleeps to go - but who's counting? Oh, me. I'm enjoying many aspects of this adventure but will be glad to take a break. Ten weeks of hard work is taking its toll.
