Only a week ago I was "enduring" the heat wave conditions in Adelaide, South Australia. I don't know what the statistics are - they change daily, as the heatwave continues. Adelaide has always had a hot dry summer, but this heatwave is breaking all records.

I seem to have an obsession with weather at the moment. Sure my old body has endured extremes - from -6 degrees in Shaoxing China in early January, to 45.7 degrees in Adelaide on Tuesday.

I've written before about Australia's strange weather. The south of the country is in the grip of an amazing heatwave,and they are desperate for some rain to douse the bushfires that are raging through the tinder dry bushland. Close to 30 people have lost their homes, and many cattle and sheep have been lost along with native animals.

Black Ice is a term people in Michigan use a lot this time of year. Black Ice refers too a layer of ice that can not be seen on the roadway and is extremely dangerous.

Black Ice is formed by blowing snow over a clear road as cars travel over the road the snow is smashed into the pavement over a period of a few hours and dozens of cars, Black Ice will form on the pavement.
