Zuckerberg said that the site future lies on advertising, one of the best Facebook technologies to hit the web is Connect, and this is a social networking technology that allows users to port their profile data to third party sites. It’s the social network’s newest tool for expanding their social services; this one hits almost every corners of the web. Facebook Connect is Beacon done right, Facebook got plans to harness the power Facebook Connect got, and in short words Zuckerberg go t plans to move beyond the site for advertising purposes, this mean by placing Facebook ads on third party sites via Connect. Zuckerberg is betting hard on Connect, he thinks that Connect could be the tough contender at becoming the primary identity web standard. Zuckerberg wants to expand Facebook everywhere on the web. For Zuckerberg, Connect is not just user’s data profile accessibility but also about potential Facebook revenue sources, it will open the door for a new kind of advertising by integrating Facebook Ads beyond Facebook site through Facebook Connect. After all the Facebook platform is actually a proven working system and its make Google more jealous. Is Zuckerberg got plans to challenge Google? Zuckerberg thinks that he could score a home run here. Facebook Connect will going to transform the social networking into something big, he will going to move one step further. Google’s OpenSocial consortium going stronger and gaining momentum. OpenSocial has just turned 1 year last Nov. 13. Google launched OpenSocial, an alliance of Facebook competitors, it’s aimed to take on Facebook exploding platform craze. OpenSocial was doing great, according to Techcrunch it s got 315 million application installs across the social networking sites this includes MySpace, Bebo, Friendster, Hi5 and Google’s own Orkut- represents a population of 600 million users, OpenSocial is a milestone for Google. The best thing about the OpenSocial platform, developers could be able to create write once run anywhere application platform, developers got no problems about distributions OpenSocial will take care of it. Google’s OpenSocial consortium is so massive that it could actually dwarf Facebook platform, it a terrible platform to advertise. I honestly believe that Google is ahead to Facebook in this kind of technology. Google got more experiences and knowledge, and got the birthright to lead the industry, Facebook has the speed of a head start but Google is much bigger and wider online reach. We expect more about OpenSocial , the consortium got plans to deploy a standard payment system that could be integrate on its platform something Facebook has announced last March but not able to make it into the web. At OpenSocial we will see those applications make their transitions into business. Google could be too late in social networking party but not too late to catch up Facebook.

It is now the largest social networking site in the web. And with former Google Exec Sheryl Sandberg , we expect more on Facebook, as it grow at rapid pace, new features and site innovations has been brought in, one of this is the Salesforce partnership. The partnership will allows third party developers to build business applications for Facebook users. While the web criticized Zuckerberg for lack of focus on the monetization of Facebook, Zuckerberg continue to address the web world about possible and latest developments at Facebook. Developments are on rampage. It is now preparing to spearhead an international push; we could expect Facebook to grow internationally. The company got plans about new ad scheme aimed at the billions.

The most controversial takeover bid in the history of the web involving software giant Microsoft and internet powerhouse Yahoo! ended in tragedy. The Microsoft-Yahoo takeover bid featuring big bucks, drama, comedy and clowns has come to an end as Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer announced that Microsoft no longer interested in acquiring Yahoo. The Microsoft-Yahoo drama begins as Microsoft launched its opening salvo, a $31 a share hostile bid (that’s roughly $44.6 billion) which was followed by months of talks by various parties, Microsoft even tried another one, a much higher bid but Yahoo ‘s Jerry Yang just declined the offered. The bid ended when Yahoo struck search ads partnership with Microsoft arch rival Google. The hopeless Microsoft decided to leave and it’s sent Yahoo stocks into free fall. The software company has dramatically changed direction, it is not interested anymore to Yahoo, the iconic Yahoo are considered by most as the crown jewel of the web, a major prize for web giants a such as Microsoft that wants to build an empire on the net. Alexa rank Yahoo as the no.1 in web traffics, this could be the reason why Microsoft really need Yahoo. Something did happen here, Redmond lost its appetite in Yahoo acquisition, and the hunt for Yahoo is done. For months the web witnessed, watched and waited in the biggest takeover bid in the history of the web. Microsoft claimed that they bid twice and failed, Yahoo declined them, and instead Jerry Yang takes the Google-Yahoo deal, Yang thinks this deal will rocks the web and eventually boost Yahoo revenue but something went wrong, the Yahoo-Google inc. failed. I assured you that even with the failure of Google search ads deal Jerry Yang always got his own plan B and that’s to seek another elephant in the room and make an offer. Yahoo is reportedly seeking Microsoft to try to restart another talk. Yahoo thinks that Microsoft got no choice but to bid again for Yahoo, this is the only and perhaps the most favored solution for Microsoft to bolster its web presence. Combining Microsoft search business with Yahoo is a must for Microsoft, search is a scale game, plus Yahoo got major audience, good revenues and nice brand name but after the Yahoo takeover failure Microsoft has decided to move on, turned more attention in other web properties, one of this is eBay. The strategy is completely changed eBay and Microsoft got vastly different cultures and occupies different part of the web. I think there are plenty of reasons for Microsoft to drop Yahoo and take something the web could produce. For Jerry Yang, you just missed the shot here, Microsoft is gone, and Google left the house. There still a possibility of Microsoft-Yahoo deal, CEO Steve Ballmer could change his mind and go for Yahoo.
