Facebook to go beyond.

Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg has announced that he was leading a once in a lifetime media revolution, Facebook, the super hot social networking site, has taken the web by storm. Its hits front page and generated a tons of buzz in the blogosphere. Facebook is one of the fastest rising dot-coms in the history of the web and probably the one of the best startup ever. The company has already surpassed 120 million active users according to the site statistics, it numbers continue to climbed; there is no sign of slowdown. But despite of its rapid growth many have criticized Zuckerberg lack of focus on the monetization of the site, but Zuckerberg continue to address the web world about possible partnerships and latest site developments. Zuckerberg said that the site future lies on advertising, one of the best Facebook technologies to hit the web is Connect, and this is a social networking technology that allows users to port their profile data to third party sites. It’s the social network’s newest tool for expanding their social services; this one hits almost every corners of the web. Facebook Connect is Beacon done right, Facebook got plans to harness the power Facebook Connect got, and in short words Zuckerberg go t plans to move beyond the site for advertising purposes, this mean by placing Facebook ads on third party sites via Connect. Zuckerberg is betting hard on Connect, he thinks that Connect could be the tough contender at becoming the primary identity web standard. Zuckerberg wants to expand Facebook everywhere on the web. For Zuckerberg, Connect is not just user’s data profile accessibility but also about potential Facebook revenue sources, it will open the door for a new kind of advertising by integrating Facebook Ads beyond Facebook site through Facebook Connect. After all the Facebook platform is actually a proven working system and its make Google more jealous. Is Zuckerberg got plans to challenge Google? Zuckerberg thinks that he could score a home run here. Facebook Connect will going to transform the social networking into something big, he will going to move one step further. For me, Google’s OpenSocial consortium got an n edge here; its consortium could actually dwarf Facebook, a tough fight for Facebook. Google which relied on an internet to make its business was not happy to what Facebook is doing, and it’s preparing a massive counterattack. The race is on for web supremacy. Facebook is doing great work and some creative moves, as its grows it’s continue to innovate, we expect a lot more for the social networking super site, this is just the beginning.

Google's OpenSocial getting stronger: Facebook in trouble?

Google’s OpenSocial consortium going stronger and gaining momentum. OpenSocial has just turned 1 year last Nov. 13. Google launched OpenSocial, an alliance of Facebook competitors, it’s aimed to take on Facebook exploding platform craze. OpenSocial was doing great, according to Techcrunch it s got 315 million application installs across the social networking sites this includes MySpace, Bebo, Friendster, Hi5 and Google’s own Orkut- represents a population of 600 million users, OpenSocial is a milestone for Google. The best thing about the OpenSocial platform, developers could be able to create write once run anywhere application platform, developers got no problems about distributions OpenSocial will take care of it. Google’s OpenSocial consortium is so massive that it could actually dwarf Facebook platform, it a terrible platform to advertise. I honestly believe that Google is ahead to Facebook in this kind of technology. Google got more experiences and knowledge, and got the birthright to lead the industry, Facebook has the speed of a head start but Google is much bigger and wider online reach. We expect more about OpenSocial , the consortium got plans to deploy a standard payment system that could be integrate on its platform something Facebook has announced last March but not able to make it into the web. At OpenSocial we will see those applications make their transitions into business. Google could be too late in social networking party but not too late to catch up Facebook.

Something big is going on the web, the largest IT Company in the world, IBM is about to enter the browser war. Rumor is rife on the web that mighty IBM I working on a next generation browser platform something that could put both Microsoft and Adobe platform on great trouble. Can IBM beat Adobe and Microsoft? IBM is launching products that step right on Microsoft and Adobe turf, Big IBM just wants to steal the fire away from Adobe and Microsoft. I guess this is only a part of the IBM’s software strategy, the big IT Company is moving most of its enterprise applications into the web and it committed to invest heavily into browser based applications. For IBM browser based application is the trend now, it got huge advantages than proprietary platform. IBM claims that their very own fully open standards platform named “Blue Spruce”. It was designed to take on proprietary rich internet applications of Microsoft Silverlight and industry leading Adobe Flash. IBM is well known for its technological innovations and cutting edge technology. Microsoft has already face IBM not just on software but also on games. It was IBM that brought us the next generation gaming chips that powered Sony’s very own PlayStation 3, a Microsoft Xbox 360 arch rival. IBM entry to browser war threaten both Microsoft and Adobe, IBM got global presence, deep pockets and formidable resources. Both Microsoft and Adobe know exactly what IBM got and they know there is a much bigger fight lurking ahead. IBM is about top unload the full potential of Blue Spruce and its putting its own weight behind it. Next generation browser platform is going to get richer and robust. We could expect a tough competition here.

Microsoft bet hard on cloud: Microsoft to own the cloud?

Microsoft’s cloud computing is making a headlines, it’s already took center stage. The Software Company has already unveiled to the web its own entry to the cloud computing, Live Mesh is an ambitious initiative, a platform and service combination, its designed to breakdown barriers between data on local devices and information. Live Mesh is a piece of web based software technology designed to connect devices and applications online. What‘s new about Microsoft’s cloud is it embrace open standards, a dream come true to third party developers. Live Mesh is actually a web platform. The company is leading a once in a lifetime disruptive cloud computing wave, it got a good vision of the cloud. The Company has pinned a lot of its hopes for future growth on this business. It’s already announced its own plans to develop a new breed of operating system for internet based applications named “Azure” is Microsoft’s latest salvo on the billion dollars cloud wars. It got greater and scalability that a traditional data centers, and guess what? It will support both Microsoft and non-Microsoft environments and languages. I’ll guess this is only a part of a much bigger Microsoft’s cloud strategies. The Company has just announced that it will spend $ 8 billion to catch up in cloud computing and to bolster its presence on the cloud. Microsoft was reportedly spending a huge amount of money and that the cost of building the physical infrastructure for cloud computing will be a major barrier limiting the players in this business, and the Redmond based Company is not alone. Giants like Amazon and Google got their presence on the cloud but only Google could threaten Microsoft’s cloud business, the Search Company got the formidable resources and deep pockets to build those services infrastructure that match those of Microsoft’s cloud, and perhaps Google is the only company in the world that could beat Microsoft. The Software Company has just started to put its big swath of its business into the cloud, its very own SQL Server join the cloud party, its could be a late comer but a promising entrant in the emerging database as a service market. Microsoft Exchange also joins the cloud party. Within the next few years, we could expect more to come from Microsoft and even Google. The cloud could be the next big thing and the next battleground for the web titans.

Microsoft move into security software: Microsoft threaten Symantec business.

Redmond based Company, Microsoft Corp. has just announced its free security software for PC, the Microsoft moves create buzz on the computer industry. The Software Company is launching products that step right on Symantec and McAfee business. Microsoft has already tested and experimented security services for big businesses and PC users. It has its own Windows OneCare, an all in one service the company is working on to bolster security for PC. The Company threatens to steal some business away from competitors like Symantec, VeriSign and McAfee by offering a broader array of security technology, Microsoft is in good position to outmaneuver its competitors, and it got formidable resources, deep pockets and wider online reach. Microsoft has already acquired a number of security companies like Sybari Software Inc. and Alacris Inc, the acquisitions are done to boost its presence on security software. The Company spends much of its time responding to security problems. The Software Company has started to offer aggressive pricing on its latest security software such as anti-malware products, the days of Symantec and McAfee which dominated the PC industry for years are numbered, the killing of Symantec business will not be an easy and fast but it could be a slow and brutal one. Microsoft is well known for its greed and brutal competition, looks like Symantec and McAfee the next target here.

Read about GOOD NEWS.

One of my classes in China is "newspaper reading' - it is quite a challenge as I use newspaper stories to help the students increase their English skills. Many of the stories in the newspapers - I use online ones, which include CNN, ABC News, Courier Mail, China Daily etc but I am often contronted by a raft of "bad news stories." Mine disasters in China, the milk contamination in China, the "crashing" of the stock market, the high price of petrol, shootings somewhere and so on. However I temper that with "Good news stories" but they can be hard to find.

An Experiment

Well, this is my first official post here at BlogEvolve. This is part of a mass experiment I'm working on. I've worked with revenue sharing sites before, and though I've never made oodles of money with them, I've made a little here and there.
