The killing fields

The killing fields refers too areas in Cambodia in which large numbers of people were executed and buried in mass graves under the Communist regime Khmer Rouge. The Khmer Rouge ruled Cambodia from 1975 to 1979. In 1979 communist Vietnam invaded Cambodia ending the Khmer Rouge’s rule over Cambodia.

Estimates of the number of dead ranged from 1.7 to 2.3 million people out of a population of 7 million. Which equals between 24 percent and 32 percent of the population of Cambodia. When you figure that the Khmer Rouge only ruled for 4 years it’s almost uncompressible of the amount of torture that took place.
