The Supreme Court has upheld the use of lethal injection

The Supreme Court has upheld Kentucky’s lethal injection method. The court in a majority decision rejected the argument that the 3 drug method induced excruciating pain and thus results in cruel and unusual punishment. The final vote was 7-2.

Several states plan on restarting the execution process. With Virginia planning to go ahead with a May 27 execution.

Personally I disagree with the Courts ruling. However I’m not surprised by it.

Well I read that it could be an agonising...

I am against capital punishment too

but at the same time I think those who commit heinous crimes deserve to die - and not be kept in prison at the tax payers expense. The cost of keeping some criminals is extremely high, and in some cases I don't believe that they "deserve to live". A vexing issue of course.

In the U.S. you can have it both ways

because many of the people sentenced to death will sit on death row for 15 to 20 years first.

Toad -

are you opposed to all forms of capital punishment, or just lethal injection? Just curious. I've heard some talk that the drug combos do not always work as planned, but I have not delved into it much.
