When the Israelites were about to reach the promised land, God gave to them the curses if they would not obey Him, some of which are as follows:

16”Thou art cursed in the city, and thou art cursed in the field; 17the barns of thee and the stores of thee are cursed; 18the offsprings of the belly of thee and the fruits of the land of thee, the herds of the oxen of thee and the flocks of the sheep of thee are cursed; 19thou art cursed in the time for thee to go out, and thou art cursed in the time for thee to enter. 20The Lord shall send out to thee the need and the famine and the consumption on all, wherever thou shall cast the hands of thee, whatsoever thou shall do, until He shall have destroyed thee and until He shall have wasted thee in haste on account of the evil schemes of thee, because thou abandoned me. x x x

24”The Lord shall give the rain to the land of thee dust, and hin out of heaven shall go down on thee, until it shall have shattered thee and until it shall have destroyed thee. 25The Lord shall give thee defeat before the enemies of thee; in one way thou shall go out to them and in seven ways thou shall flee from the face of them; and thou shall be in dispersion in all the kingdoms of the earth. 26And the dead men of you shall be food for the birds of the heaven and for the beasts of the earth, and there shall not be the man who scares them. x x x

53”And thou shall eat the off-springs of the belly of thee, meat of the sons of thee and of the daughters of thee, whatsoever the Lord the God of thee has given to thee, in the restriction of thee and in the tribulation of thee, with which the enemy of thee shall trouble thee. 54The tender man in thee and the exceedingly delicate shall mock with the eye the brother and the woman in the bosom of him and the children having been left, which was left, 55so as to give to one of them from the flesh of the children of him, whoever he shall eat, on account of nothing to be left to him in the restriction of thee and in the tribulation of thee, with whichever the enemies of thee shall trouble thee in all the cities of thee.

56”And the tender woman in you and the exceedingly delicate, of whom the foot of her took not a trial to go on the ground on account of the delicacy and on account of the tenderness, shall mock with the eye of her the man of her in the bosom of her and the son and the daughter of her 57and the afterbirth of her coming out of the thighs of her and the child which she delivered; for she shall eat them in secret on account of the need of all in the restriction of thee and in the tribulation of thee, with which the enemy of thee shall trouble thee in all the cities of thee. x x x (Deuteronomy 28:16 forward)

Eating own children and the afterbirth have not as yet come to us and I hope that this will never come. I have not heard that this happened before although I have heard that some people ate people but not generally.
