Conan O'brian took a shot at people living twitter-lives. The debate sounds like commercial fodder for the folks that made the PC vs. Mac vignettes. The tension between the two camps is great for anyone willing to tag or hash mark their opinion, and better yet; use it to sell something, let's say, a t-shirt.
I just started to tweet and I feel like I am in the center of a vortex when ever I call up the twitter god on my TweetDeck. Today I met "I Prick U Body Works" while riding the storm. I don't care what you say, that was fun! The chances are real slim that we would have met in my bustling metropolis.
And the music! I didn't bet on this when I was initiated into twitter. And I use it all the time, having found an unlimited supply of tunes and people to talk about them, use them for messages, rebuttable, and the infrequent coy come-on. free jukebox all the time
You just can't take the phenomenon too seriously or you take all the fun out of it. It is meant to be irreverent isn't it? And funny, a bit sloppy, and once in a while, maudlin. Lighten up will you? Or wear this shirt: nyah!

Someone put this on Blip.fm while I was finishing a comment on BlogEvolve and listening to the Blip playlist: My reason For Living!

Christian Music at Blip.fm--gospel, contemporary, you will love the search. It works for free, off of twitter, and you can send music as a message.
shibboleth and chaz77
Search for me at twitter, I am shibboleth. And at Blip.fm I am chaz77--the two applications are easily connected and when you play with the music and send a message (Blip) it shows up in twitter. I investigated the music thing and Blip.fm has the biggest jukebox and it is easy to use (free). You can look up anything, and once you start . . . FitgeraldKC is an authority and assured me of the same.
@Hutt----what's your twitter name, wait--let me guess, is it . .
so Edward, you do not pronounce it sibboleth?
What made you choose that user name, I am curious. I have not twittered or tweeted or what ever you do over there. I have also resisted face book as well. Don't know why for sure, but have no desire to gaet hooked on something else!

Shibboleth
Shibboleth (pronounced /ˈʃɪbəlɛθ/[1] or /ˈʃɪbələθ/[2]) is any distinguishing practice which is indicative of one's social or regional origin. It usually refers to features of language, and particularly to a word whose pronunciation identifies its speaker as being a member or not a member of a particular group.
In the Book of Judges, chapter 12, after the inhabitants of Gilead inflicted a military defeat upon the tribe of Ephraim (around 1370–1070 BC), the surviving Ephraimites tried to cross the Jordan River back into their home territory and the Gileadites secured the river's fords to stop them. In order to identify and kill these disguised refugees, the Gileadites put each refugee to a simple test:
Gilead then cut Ephraim off from the fords of the Jordan, and whenever Ephraimite fugitives said, 'Let me cross,' the men of Gilead would ask, 'Are you an Ephraimite?' If he said, 'No,' they then said, 'Very well, say Shibboleth.' If anyone said, 'Sibboleth', because he could not pronounce it, then they would seize him and kill him by the fords of the Jordan. Forty-two thousand Ephraimites fell on this occasion.

I had just read the account in a daily reading and I have always had a fascination with words. And I needed a name for my twitter account.
Having it to do over again I would just use MY NAME!
I have a Twitter account under the name, Counselor,
Edward, but so far, it seems pretty confusing to me. AC lists my articles automatically on Twitter, but I'm not sure that does a lot of good. Let's say I have 100 followers--which I don't. At the time AC posts one of my articles on my account, maybe only one or two of those followers are even on Twitter. Since posts are almost non-stop, whatever is on there from you soon disappears from view, so it is like playing the lottery--the chances that anyone will even read one of your comments seems pretty unlikely to me--unless you are famous, like Pot-Pie Girl, or if a friend is looking specifically for something you have posted. Am I missing the idea of how Twitter works?
AC is no longer informing me of your posts
I signed up to be notified but assumed that lately you are on hiatus.
I'm thinking my twitter list should be culled and the strict sales pitches be pitched themselves. There is a lot of offers to buy an "autopilot" that automates your followers/following. Which doesn't make sense to me. I want to be in an organic group, really talking to each other and I see little of that.
At twitter it is difficult to get a conversation going. I have really only had one, with FitzgeraldAC (but that is Blip.fm too), and I almost messed it up; I could see he was suspecting me of being a commercial. He works hard at creating a music playlist and being a DJ, then I made the comment I make here, that he worked hard and had a group but didn't seem to be getting any revenue.
I'm just a troublemaker, I wound up instigating "Fitz" like I did "Hutt," without meaning to.
I think we have to self-host. The free-hosting sites get the revenue while we chatter away at each other. I am looking at affiliate marketing, hoping to find something I can sell, a real something--even hardware! And I wish you guys could get a place next door and across the street so we can meet at the cracker-barrel and chew the fat!
So that is my rant, I feel like the new kid at the edge of the playground when I am on twitter. I see all those conversations going on but I can't get in on them. And in a way I think that happens here, there are people listening to us, they are revenue for the host--I know because I look forward to coming here to find out about the latest happening.
This is a going racket for the host who owns it, but let's face it, we are standing in front of his/her store!
I am there under spookyyank
No shock, eh? But beyond signing up I haven't done anything with it. Think it's a sign of old people?
I signed up
So far, I'm not very excited about it. So, I'm there randomly. I can see why the site would have potential, and a lot of people are making an art out of developing that potential and then offering courses about it.
I think I "get it" even though it bores me most of the time.

I need to sign up
And I will Saturday or soon after (better internet being installed). I could use advise from ya'll on how to use it effectively. Seriously. Email me with any bits you've learned that might make the whole thing easier to use. I'm hoping to direct traffic to articles and a new website I'm putting up.

Get TweetDeck and it gives three columns across, subdividing the three where you can see what is going on. The replies (@) and the direct messages (D) will move much slower and you won't get so dizzy. Throw out the pitchmen and all three should be manageable. TweetDeck loads easily, keying off your twitter information. My apologies to those that know this, but it took me a while to get it.
Some beginner twitter info.
I ran across this today: 10 EZ steps 4 Beginners Worth looking at if you do want to "tweet."
I twitter and...
