I think another reason that more people don't follow it is because L. Ron Hubbard wrote "Dianetics" because of a bet his friend made with him. Something about his friend betting him that he couldn't create a religion that people would actually follow and adhere to.

but I am not comfortable with any religion that seems to condone having many wives - even if not at the same time. Mind you, I'm not sure that having the one partner throughout life is what we are meant to do, except that is what Christianity teaches us, isn't it?
I'm all over the celebrity thing - they get too much money, and many are rotten role models.

Yeah - the many wives thing doesn't wash with me, either. I can barely support one...lol.
I agree with the one partner for life, though...as long as that partner is carefully chosen. But I don't look down my nose at those who decide that that's not their type of lifestyle. Except for celebrities, of course. They look at marriage as a disposable commodity...and that's just wrong on so many levels.
I couldn't care less.
Marriage number three - and still counting? I think he's a pretty weird guy really. Good actor - but so obsessive and I wonder how long Katie can cope with it. She must be having fun with all the adulation at the moment - but wait till the honeymoon is over.
