Underdogs Get It Done!

I was so pleased to see the New York Giants take the win at Super Bowl Fourty Two. Awesome to see the Manning brothers win back to back championships. What an exciting finish it was as well. Eli was able to rally his troops and connect on a 3rd down with 11 yards to go to reciever Steve Smith for 12 yards and the first down. Manning then was able to connect to Plaxico Burress on a 13 yard touchdown to give the Giants the lead at 17-14. The Giants defense then tied Brady up for the remainding 25 seconds and two play attempts.

This ended the Patriots almost perfect season a feat accomplished so far by only one NFL team the 1972 Miami Dolphins. The game was a close one and all the way towards the last minute looked as if the Patriots would maintain their 14-10 advantage but the Giants had other plans. Although I'm not a Giants I always route for the underdog. Once again the little guy overcame tremendous obstacles. It was a great football game and our whole family enjoyed ourselves.

Honestly, I don't know about football until I come here in the US. My hubby who is a Patriot fanatic introduced me to football... or shall I say I was forced to it because I don't have a choice (he holds the remote). Anyway, we were really sad and surprised by the turned out of events. But the Giants deserved it... they too worked hard for the game. And Manning is cute.
