What Ever Happened To Good Manners -- Repeat

If this content seems familiar, it probably should; it is a reprint of an earlier blog entry I wrote that drew 197 readers, but, due to recent problems cropping up on this site, I thought it might bear repeating at this time.

When I was a child, we were taught that it was good manners to share. That meant our toys, our treats, our material possessions, and our blog space. Oops... well, maybe not that last one, but I'm sure we would have done it if such things had existed then. We were even taught that we should give other people equal time to talk when we were engaged in conversation.

When we post a blog entry, we hope that it will be viewable at least long enough for us to e-mail our friends and tell them that we have a new article up, even if it has migrated to page 2 by the time they hop online to read it.

Unfortunately, there are bloggers who write 5 or 10 blogs in a row, which immediately pushes other writers off the page. This, in a conversation, would be called "hogging the limelight." Please don't do this. I, for one, would like to see what other people have to say.

Good on you Ken...

I'm still here Ken because I like...

the originals and the new people and because there are still standards here, despite the ignoramus spammers.

I like it here, too, and will stay...

... hell, we can probably revive this site and drive some more traffic here with all of our brilliant content.

Also, I've linked some of my other blogs to drive traffic here. Who knows, there is an ebb and flow to all aspects of life. BE could come roaring back.

I like the people here a lot, and as for the spammers, I wish a pox upon them ...

KEN'S E-BOOKS

Jellen and Ken,

Administration dropped by several months ago. I saw him (or at least his comment) with my very own eyes. This is the honest TRUTH, Ken; I know what a stickler you are for truth.

If you don't believe me, all you need to do to verify his existence is to click on "Meet Us" in the upper left hand corner. He even wrote a few personal blog entries before disappearing into who knows where.

For Ken, and other concerned persons, I wouldn't count on getting rich from this site. It was once a bustling community. Now, most of our regulars have moved on, although a few still drop by to say, "hi." We have very few writers left, and even fewer readers.

Maybe you are right, Jellen, about an e-mail crusade, but I think administration has moved on to greener pastures. It is too bad, because it leaves us open to abuse without remedy.

I'm on board ...

... this is all so curious to me. Am I to believe someone created this site, and then just cast it off into cyberspace to fend for itself? Who's the owner?

I also notice that generally there is almost no one here -- for example, right now it says there is "one user" (me apparently) and "0" guests online. How odd.

On most other sites, you usually see a few hundred or thousand users on the site -- does this site have a search engine ranking at all?

It all begs the question -- what am I doing here? -- if there are so few users and readers? Just wondering. There are some nice folks here, though -- it's kind of like a friendly ghost town.

HAVE AN OUT-OF-BODY-EXPERIENCE

Thinking they are unaware

I'm thinking no one has taught them. Other sites allow up to 5 per day, or three in a row, but this one has no standard - so it's like the first kid with a plate of cookies. Will he think about the other kids or just himself?

I have a suggestion. How about if we got a real live Admin? How about if all of us decide to write e-mails by the dozens to our Admin. Someone is keeping the site going, paying the bills and enjoying the profit. Let's see if that person will answer and deal with concerns here.
