What is brain drain

Brain drain refers too collage graduates leaving the area they were educated in for work in other states. This exodus of qualified workers and leaders often depresses a already depressed local economy even more. States experiencing brain drain are also losing the extra income tax revenue that these educated people would be paying if they took jobs locally.

Both countries have been doing well...

but Aussie of course has more mineral assets than NZ - we are mostly dairy and sheep farming, tourism, fisheries, forestry and then other industries.NZ unemployment has dropped to 3.5%, Aussie is higher but dropping. NZ changed to a market economy in late 1980's - had a lot of impact socially and on employment - many small communities which had been built around rail were badly affected and have never recovered. A lot of meat export works have closed, because of strict European Union standards; which actually dont apply domestically in Europe. Things have improved overall.
