Where Do You Blog?

About fifteen months ago, I was invited by one of my daughters to join her in blogging. At the time I had heard the term “blog”, but did not really know what it meant. But she assured me I would enjoy it. Plus there was the lure of extra money that would flow in from the Adsense income. I signed up at Writing Up.

My daughter was wrong about the extra money from the ads, but she was right about thinking I would like it. I really got hooked on blogging and invested a lot of time and energy in building the blog and the readership, and I loved the interaction of the community there.

Last July, I enrolled at blogitive and began making a little from the imbedded links to the advertisers sites. I like the easy money that blogitive ads offer. But I did not like making that blog a commercial enterprise.

So I started another blog at WU on which I could place the ads without being concerned about the integrity of the blog. I also started four blogs at blogspot and four others at blog.com for the same purposes. At the first of the year I also signed up to write for payperpost and blogsvertise on those four blogs. Since then I have also added sponsored reviews, bloggerwave, creamaid and smorty as sources of income. I have made what I call substantial money on those blogs.

But my favorite blog was still the familyfunandfaith blog at writing up. Recently a large migration has left Writing Up for other places for several reasons. It seems lonely over there. I will still post there and hope the community rebuilds.

A group from WritingUp has banded together at myspace in a small community called Writing Down. I like the associations, but I do not like the feel of myspace yet. So I came by here last night and like what I saw. I will be posting here a few times a week for a while to see if it will become my primary home.

Where do you blog, and why?

Me too, FFF

it's the comments that keep me blogging. Actually, myspace is becoming a lot more active. SUbscribe to other's blogs and they will subscribe to yours. I added everyone on the writingdown page and subscribed to their posts.

I have been systematically adding subscriptions, imaauthor

to the blogs of the writing down group at myspace. I have a few left to add, but it is an easy way to keep up with what has been posted. I have had a few comments over there, and that is why I keep going back!

I too started at WU...

and started a number of other blogs, including BF. The latter is a more involved version of this site which is obviously newer. I now have somewhere to go to if BF falls over again. I have found I need to be controversial to get much comment at WU.I have written a few concerning Islam; and have found I need a thick skin sometimes.

I read some of the controversial ones, huttriver,

but I did not comment. I usually stayed away from the flamethrowing matches. But I was very happy with the readership and interaction that I was able to build in the WU village.

I have not visited Blogfeast. I guess I should look.

One thing about BE

You almost always get comments...respectful ones too.

I think I like the interaction of comments more, Jellen,

than the writing of the blogs themselves.
