Depends on who you ask and what station you listen to. Depends on what you believed going into the debate and what you were listening for.
Essentially, American government oversimplified is something like this. Republicans want less government in lives of people and business and Demarcates want more opportunities for government in the lives of people and business. One seems to focus on securing the nation abroad so the nation at home is well. The other seems to focus on the nation at home so it can be well abroad.
Who's right? Depends on who you ask and what's happening on the economic or military front. This election year, it might also depend on race, religion, age, or candidate gender.
Since both presidential candidates in America are very bright, both seem to be caring individuals and pro-America, both seem to portray leadership abilities, it comes down to whether voters feel more strongly about the way candidates plan to fix the economy, health care, or military status. And again, that seems to come down to whether you agree with trickle down economics or not, and whether you believe less government or more government is the better mode.
So who really won the debate? I think both did well as debaters, and both set forth their policies well. Did the debate change the way I plan to vote? No. Did it make me feel more inclined to vote a certain way. Yes. I think that's the most accurate outcome of the debate -- bringing about a more affirmed vote.
