China is a country that is going places. I guess we all know that many of the items we buy in our countries are made in China. They have a huge workforce, who are lowly paid by the standards of the West, which makes it easy to produce low cost items in China and sell them for good profit.
In the past there has been little need for Chinese to speak English - though they have a history of using English in a way that we westerners find amusing. Some of the instructions we get with appliances for example, and some of the signs that are around China are confusing and amusing.
But the Chinese people have learned that the West is a huge market for them and they are keen to have their people speak other languages - and English is one of them.
So, native English speakers are needed. So if any one is keen for adventure, good at English and has a degree and/or TESOL/ESOL or other similar qualifications there are many jobs going in China.
The conditions and pay varies, but it is not too hard to find a good job. Anyone in Australia interested could contact ACC - the organisation that arranged my posting.
I hope that I can teach the students well - and have a wonderful experience at the same time.
